At Sharnbrook Academy we believe that clear, open communication between the academy and families has a positive impact on pupils’ learning. We aim to respond to all non-urgent communications within two working days, in line with our Communications Policy, which can be found here:

Urgent queries of a safeguarding nature are responded to within 24 hours, and should be sent to safeguarding@sharnbrook.academy.

Any general enquiries should be sent to administration@sharnbrook.academy, and we will ensure that your query reaches the right member of staff.

Our House System

Students joining the school will be placed into the same house as their siblings.

Students are allocated to a tutor group which is made up of around 27 students from years 7-11 within the same house, providing an established network of older students who, guided by Form Tutors, will offer advice and assistance to younger students.

Our sixth form students will also work with younger students in their houses at key times throughout the year.

Form tutors have daily contact with each of their tutees and know them individually. Tutors are skilled in easing the transition to secondary school, and they will make contact with parents of new students early in the first term to establish the home school partnership we regard so highly.

Tutor groups are based in their House zones in different areas of the academy, and each House has its own base called the House Office, where the Senior Tutor and Student Support Assistant can be found. Students are able to visit the House Office during unstructured times to talk through any concerns or issues they are experiencing, and the House team will liaise closely with home as required.

For a matter relating to the well-being, general progress or behaviour of your child, please contact the tutor in the first instance.

Should you be concerned about the tutoring or wider progress being made by your child, or you wish to discuss their well-being, safety or potential bullying, please contact the senior tutor for your child’s house, as below.

Should you feel that your concerns or queries have not been addressed adequately, please contact the relevant Assistant Principal or senior leader for your child’s house, as outlined below.
