Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme is a nationally and internationally recognised award which is acknowledged by employers and universities alike. The award is very well established at Sharnbrook Academy and offers a wide range of challenges and opportunities to our students. The school offers the award at all three levels: bronze, silver and gold with expeditions being organised and run by staff from the school.

Students achieve the award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition), each of which they undertake for a set period of time. At gold level, a fifth section is also required, which is a residential experience. For more specific information on the award, please visit www.dofe.org
